PROJECT OF A SINGLE-FAMILY HOUSE BY THE PONDS

Author: Adrianna Kliś Diploma Studio | promoter: prof. Marek Blazucki

The minimalist design of the house with a total area of 123 square meters is designed for the needs of 1-2 people. The geometric form of the block has been broken by protruding the elevation marking the night zone. The asymmetric terrace extended over the pond forms an integral part with the daily zone. The whole building was completed by the construction of diagonal wooden beams. The use of the same degree of inclination in them gave the effect of the illusion of their changing, opposite angles. The face of the building was finished with sandstone slabs, black plaster and architectural concrete. Simple forms, uncomplicated, open spaces are the features that dominate the design. The surrounding nature is an additional advantage of the place.

PROJECT OF ADAPTATION OF THE FORMER TRAM DEPOT IN CIESZYN INTO A TOURIST INFORMATION CENTER

Author: Agnieszka Kozyra Diploma Studio | promoter: prof. Marek Blazucki

The building housing the electric tram depot was built in 1910. After the liquidation of tram communication in the city, the building was partially rebuilt. It is currently rented out for garages and a bindery. The facility is located close to the city center, near the Castle Hill, the Silesian Castle of Art and Entrepreneurship and the Sports and Entertainment Hall. The revitalization project of the building assumes the preservation of the characteristic features of the building, while giving it an aesthetic, modern look. The preserved entrance gate, today partly walled up, has been exposed and glazed, and the area in front of the gate has been used as a yard with green elements serving as a summer garden. The functional layout, to which the interior of the building is subordinated, includes a customer service zone, a relaxation zone, a sanitary zone, a self-service zone with 3 multimedia stations and facilities for staff.

THE PROJECT OF TRANSFORMING A FOREST HOUSE INTO AN ALL-YEAR-ROOM RESIDENTIAL HOUSE

Author: Agnieszka Niczyporuk Diploma Studio | promoter: prof. Marek Blazucki

In the village of Łazy, in a place far from the urban agglomeration, a former forester’s lodge is located. It was erected in the 1920s on stone foundations, had a 70-meter ground floor and a partially usable attic. The building was erected on a plot of approx. 22 acres, which bordered on the forest from the eastern and northern sides. An additional advantage was the location of the building on a slope and the picturesque view of the Błatnia Mountain Massif from the south. The assumption of the project was to transform the current summer resort – forester’s lodge into a year-round residential house by doubling its volume. The expansion of the building allowed to create a space that consists of an open living room with a kitchen, a toilet, a guest room with a bathroom on the ground floor and a bedroom with an adjoining bathroom, as well as a library and a dressing room on the first floor. Referring to the tradition of the region, the building was covered with shingles. The southern façade is fully glazed, while the remaining rooms are illuminated by roof windows running along the walls, up to its roof. The interior is a reference to the modern style. According to the assumptions, it is supposed to be dominated by simplicity, and the introduced divisions are to influence discipline and clarity in the interior. Subdued colours, limited to neutral colours, are supposed to promote harmony and encourage relaxation.

PROJECT OF ADAPTATION OF THE PRODUCTION HALL OF THE FORMER “BEWELANA” TEXTILE PLANT

Author: Damian Wisła Diploma Studio | promoter: prof. Marek Blazucki

The subject of the diploma thesis is the adaptation of a single-story, 4,876-square-metre production hall built in the 1960s, which was part of the former ZPW BEWELANA textile plant. The hall is located at ul. Gen. Maczka 71 in Bielsko-Biała in the former industrial quarter between the river and the railway line to Żywiec. In my project, I propose adapting the hall for cultural purposes, creating a center for the promotion of the city. In the newly designed facility, I assume the creation of a permanent, interactive exhibition about the city, its history, etc. with a separate space for temporary exhibitions and screening rooms, as well as an entrance hall and a restaurant for approx. 150 people with facilities. In the ground floor of the hall there are technical and storage rooms. The administrative rooms were located in the adjoining hall

PROJECT OF A FAMILY HOUSE BY LAKE ROŻNOWKIE

Author: Kinga Frączek Diploma Studio | promoter: prof. Marek Blazucki

The subject of the study is a modernist single-family house for year-round living, located on Lake Rożnowskie in Bartkowa-Posadowa, Nowy Sącz district. Innovative architectural forms often surprise with their simplicity, functionality and perfect fit into the landscape without compromising the values of the environment. The modernist house by the lake will blend into the landscape due to its uncomplicated shape, simple construction and unpretentious, minimalist finish. The main reason for adopting the concept of a modernist building in this and not another form and away from the hustle and bustle of the city was the desire to change the surroundings and the passion for simple, functional and uncomplicated spaces. The scope of the study includes the architectural solution of the building itself as well as the division and finishing of the interiors while maintaining the assumptions of modernism. Together with properly selected building and finishing materials, they create a unique, ecological single-family house.

CONTAINER HOUSE PROJECT

Author: Karolina Rokowska | Diploma Studio | promoter: prof. Marek Blazucki

The aim of the project was to create a spacious and modern block that would retain the character of a house made of containers. The house is to function as a single-family home for a married couple and two children. The project is to show that nowadays it is possible to build a house using a method different from traditional construction. The house is made of eight modules of the same dimensions. The bedroom with a dressing room, intended for a married couple, is constructed of two smaller 20 DV containers that have been adapted to the shape of the building. The containers were arranged at different angles to each other so that the whole was more dynamic and visually attractive. Openings for large glazing have been cut in the walls. A lot of windows make the whole form lighter. Despite the fact that the house has a raw look and character, a lot of warm light comes in until Wednesday, at the same time warming up the interior. The window joinery is aluminium. The whole structure is approx. 252 square meters. The house has environmentally friendly solutions.

PROJECT OF ARCHITECTURAL SEAL AT UL. PRZEKOP IN BIELSKO-BIAŁA

Author: Katarzyna Zalewska | Diploma Studio | promoter: prof. Marek Blazucki

A small plot (plot no. 1116), measuring 22m and 5m at its widest point, located on the frontage of Przekop Street in Bielsko-Biała, has remained undeveloped until today, despite its location in the center of Bielsko-Biała in the former factory district called Żywiecki Suburb. The design has a modern form. The two façades are designed in glass and aluminium and the interior is in a minimalist style. Its characteristic determinant is simplicity, perfection and calmness. The building has three levels, on the last (roof) there is a terrace with a swimming pool. The designed seal is connected to three buildings. The ground floor is only partly built-up to allow communication between the buildings.
