COSMETOLOGY – Master’s studies

Organization of studies

  • Part-time studies (extramural) – 10 meetings per semester, an average of 2 meetings a month
  • Days of classes: Friday from 16.00 – 20.00, Saturday and Sunday from 8.30 to 17.30
  • Lectures conducted remotely (Microsoft Teams)
  • Classes carried out using the stationary method, including organized study visits in partner clinics, wellness and aesthetic medicine clinics
  • Each cosmetology student is required to have access to a computer with an audiovisual system necessary for remote work at home
COSMETOLOGY

Program – second degree studies (Master's)

The study program is implemented over 4 semesters and includes 1240 hours of part-time classes for a total of 120 ECTS. It covers the implementation of two specialties from the second year of studies:

  • COSMETOLOGY IN AESTHETIC MEDICINE
  • MODERN TRENDS IN WELLNESS AND SPA

Practical classes constitute over 50% of the study program and are conducted from the first semester.

Advanced and in-depth theoretical knowledge is associated with the increasing complexity of practical classes, which become more specialized in subsequent semesters.

Foreign language classes are carried out in the first and second semester and end with an exam at B2+ CEFR level.

WITHIN THE SPECIALTY, YOU WILL GET FAMILIAR WITH, AMONG OTHERS:

  • structure, function and location as well as vascularity and innervation of the face and neck muscles
  • types and techniques of making camouflages and corrections in patients with various skin defects
  • trichological diagnostics: planning and performing treatments supporting the treatment of skin and hair problems (darsonvalization, needle mesotherapy)
  • needle mesotherapy: treatment techniques (face, scalp, injection lipolysis), injection techniques (nappage needle mesotherapy, microbubbles, derma roller, dermaPEN)
  • fillers: treatment techniques and injection techniques (linear retrograde, linear lateral, forward, fan, deposits and microdeposits, blanching, cross)
  • exercises on skins and models under the supervision of a teacher
  • surgical methods used in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery
  • photodynamic therapies and light therapy: therapeutic possibilities, application
  • in aesthetic surgery, the most common complications, laser hair removal, carbon peeling, the so-called black-doll, closing blood vessels

WITHIN THE SPECIALTY, YOU WILL GET FAMILIAR WITH, AMONG OTHERS:

  • methods of diagnosis in Ayurveda, selection and use of various oils for Ayurvedic massage, Ayurvedic treatments and massages and treatment methods. Introduction to Panchakarma therapy as achieving a state of balance between mind, spirit and body. Ayurvedic dietetics. Herbs and spices – properties, actions, recommendations for the digestive system. Principles of preparing and eating meals.
  • presentations and treatment exercises on selected equipment. The use of modern and innovative apparatus with a modeling and cellulite effect based on the action of radio waves, muscle electrostimulation, ultrasounds, skin resurfacing, lipolasers, LED light and dermomassages, e.g.: Maximus™ (Pollogen Legend Trilipo®), icoone® laser – vacuum massage device, Integral Cellu M6 Endermologie, Integral Cellu M6 lipomassage – apparatus using a patented lipolysis technique;
  • equipment for massages and relaxation treatments, including Permanent Contour, Pantai Luar devices for performing treatments with herbal stamps, oil treatments, wine therapy, mud and hay massages;
  • water massage devices, Spa MediQ capsule,
  • innovative beds for performing treatment rituals and massages, the SOFT PACK SYSTEM®DAY SPA type, MLX Quartz quartz bed, Hydro Yet bed for dry water massage;
  • radio wave, electrostimulation, ultrasound, LED therapy,
  • European bathing culture and its development within the spa resort. The specifics of the operation of the bath  in a sauna. Sauna and hammam rituals. Balneology and unconventional Kneipp therapy.
  • practical use of essential oils in biological regeneration, creating a mixture of essential oils in a base oil, therapy with essential oils in selected cosmetic problems: cellulite, stretch marks, dilated blood vessels, dry skin, skin aging, irritation caused by depilation, fungal infections, eczema.
  • systematization of knowledge about body shaping and fat reduction, along with its impact on the condition of the skin and the proper functioning of the body. Evaluation of the degree of advancement of cellulite.
  • types and specificity of the synergy of modeling and anti-cellulite massages and customer expectations.
  • systematization of knowledge about manual MDL lymphatic drainage and its detoxifying effect and impact on the balance of water management. Research analysis.

REASONS WHY IT IS WORTH DOING SECOND DEGREE STUDIES:

  1. Development of critical thinking skills, data and text analysis, as well as discussion and exchange of views.
  2. Continuation of studies at the second-cycle master’s studies allows a broader look at many issues, opens the way to scientific work, writing a doctorate.
  3. Increased competition on the labor market – it is obvious that deepening knowledge, acquiring new skills and a master’s degree in cosmetology meets with favor and recognition of potential employers and clients using cosmetic services.
  4. Prestige – even the best training cannot compete with a master’s degree, a master’s degree confirmed by a university diploma enjoys great esteem in common consciousness.

TRAININGS

Apprenticeships play a special role in the implementation of the study program and making them practical. The internships are divided into professional internships of 350 teaching hours and university internships of 130 teaching hours. The implementation of the university internship is spread over individual semesters of studies (from I to IV), and students take their professional internship in external institutions in semesters II and III.
